Jon Bounds’ 11-11-11 live blog

Which started off well, but was interrupted by power and 3G data connection issues (and the tendancy to tweet instead) is here.

Live Blog from the Hardcore Michael Grimes

Read the transcript of Michael’s live blog, he did the full 11 hours — without, it seems, going too insane.

11 Seconds with Nick Booth

Nick Booth couldn’t stomach 11 hours on the 11 bus, but he has the fullest recording of any journey – he filmed all of his 11 seconds (even though it goes a bit weird).

And even documented his ticket (which in a nice display of numerology cost £1.1):

Photos from the Top Deck – Julia Gilbert’s 11-11-11

I know she has more thoughts to come and was tweeting durring the whole 11 hours, but Juila has quickly got her photos online in an 11-11-11 set on flickr.
This one features an 11A:

Qik Videos live from the bus

I (thanks to loan of an N95 from Stef) posted (nay streamed) live video from the bus through the day via Qik. It comes across as a series of outtakes from “Charlie Borman moans in the Desert” or whatever the programme is called where he talks breathlessly to camera and rides a motorbike. Luckily they’re [...]

Done, finish, kaput.

On the eleventh of November a disparate group of psychogeographers, artists, bloggers, photographers, bus drivers and babies spent eleven hours on Birmingham’s number eleven bus starting after eleven am. There were rules. But not many. The rules were:

Get on the 11C after 11am on 11/11.
Get off the 11C at 10pm — 11 hours later [...]

Recording your 11-11-11 online (or watching others’)

Okay, you’ve packed your sandwitches, crisps and a penguin, got your camera, laptop or posh mobile phone, pens, paper or hammond organ. How are we going to know what you’re up to?
By the power of online communication.

If you’re tweeting your tweets should show up on this site — as long as you use the words [...]

So, who’s 11-11-11ing?

Well, I am. But who else?
We’ve had 27 “definites” say yes on Facebook, and 40 “maybes”. We’ll see.
A further 7 or so have said yes on the blog’s sign-up page.
Louise Whitmore will be photographing and drawing.
‘Eightball’ has “something planned with original hammond music”.
Mark Steadman is planning to record or broadcast for his Rhubarb Radio show.
Tom [...]

Mapping and planning

An expedition of our scale needs careful planning. If you’re going to spend eleven hours on a bus, you need to know places to eat, places to get off to go to the toilet, places to charge your gadgets if you’re doing anything like filming or photography. So we need an editable collaboratable map. Luckily [...]
